But opponents of his crazed plans for building a European superstate and banning national flags and anthems were uniting yesterday after full details emerged of his ambitions for a massive new taxation offensive once he is installed in the £250,000-a-year post.

Milquet propose des quotas de femmes dans les CA d'entreprises
La ministre fédérale de l'Egalité des chances, Joëlle Milquet, déposera sur la table du gouvernement des propositions pour imposer des quotas de femmes dans les conseils d'administration des entreprises publiques autonomes et des sociétés cotées en bourse, a-t-elle annoncé mercredi.
Dans les sept ans qui viennent, ces organes devront compter un tiers de femmes. La ministre veut également lancer une réflexion sur des quotas de femmes dans les organes de direction de ces entreprises ainsi que dans les comités de direction des administrations fédérales. Même si le monde patronal se montre réticent, la ministre s'est dite déterminée à avancer dans cette direction.
"Si la FEB et le monde de l'entreprise ne sont pas heureux, je me retrancherai derrière l'initiative du chef de groupe de l'UMP, qui n'est quand même pas défavorable au monde des entreprises ni d'extrême gauche, et qui vient de déposer une proposition imposant 40 pc de femmes. Quand je vois que l'UMP bouge, je serais un peu gênée qu'on ne bouge pas non plus", a déclaré Mme Milquet.
